Why I Prefer SiteGround Hosting Over Bluehost

Forget about all the other technical kinds of stuff stating about the performance of these giant web hosting providers.

Let me tell you how it dawned on me that indeed SiteGround’s performance is one of the best with my own simple assessment and experience.

With all the hype about Bluehost and the commission offers that was remarkable, I really want to try it out as it is much cheaper than SiteGround.

Here are the differences I found in terms of Support and Customer Service, Price, Speed, Ease of use, Reliability,  Uptime, and Security.

#1. Support & Customer Service

SiteGround offers multiple help channels. Namely –

– Instant Self-help so that you can get your issue resolved without waiting.

  • Pinned help on every page
  • Smart AI chatbot
  • Automated solutions

– 24/7 Live help

  • Live chat
  • Phone support
  • Helpdesk tickets

Whenever I chat with the customer service agent, I mostly got connected within 5 minutes and on average 1 minute.

The agents are highly capable of solving my problem be it a huge file transfer, site crush, or in any matter, my problems are always solved.

They also offer to stay on making sure I got what I wanted. For these whole years, I’ve never been issued any ticket due to the agent not able to solve my problem.

In fact, my problems are solved mostly in one contact. Meanwhile, at Bluehost, it is another story!

The support given by Bluehost is available 24×7 hours on chat and 10 am-10 pm on call due to the Covid 19 lockdown.

The customer support agent isn’t that oriented with what your problem is because they keep on asking me, again and again, each time I start a chat.

A support ticket has been issued most of the time and the response took 24-48 hours.

My experiences with Bluehost was pathetic and frustrating.

Here is excerps of my recent interaction with Bluehost.

1st Contact:

Me: I got a problem editing my DNS setting. It shows an error. Can you help me?

Agent: (After confirming with a PIN / OTP sent to my registered email) Tell me your IP Address.

I have sent my IP Address ( Wondering why my IP Address?)

Agent: I have reset your IP Address. The propagation will take 24-48 hours.

I waited for more than 48 hours but no change.

2nd Contact:

Me: I have given my IP Address to change my DNS setting more than 48 hours ago but nothing works till now.

Agent: Please give me your name servers, I will update it for you.

I gave my SiteGround name servers.

Agent: I have updated it. It can take 24-48 hours for propagation.

I checked 5 minutes later and saw that my site was live in SiteGround. I must admit that this was my first case in which the Bluehost Support Agent solved my problem instantly (please note that this was my second contact in relation to this problem).

#2. Price

No doubt, pricing is one of the main factor one check out for before purchasing anything.

However, the costlier doesn’t always mean the quality would be most superior one but we also can’t deny the fact that mostly with a higher price you get a better product depending on what type of service you are looking for. So, the key here is to be able to decide what you exactly require.

#3. Speed, Uptime & Reliability

Site speed one of the most critical factor when choosing a host. Google shows that 53% of people will leave if your pages don’t load within three seconds. Apart from compressing your images, there is nothing much you can do if your host is slow. a slow host.

Bluehost lags few seconds behind in uptime and speed. You will be able to tell the difference also while updating your posts or pages.

With Bluehost, what I find awkward is it takes some time to save your updates even if your internet speed is fast. This is surprising as the speed and uptime test shows very acceptable records.

I thought it might be a one time issue, but I have faced this problem always… I was like… “Oh, come on… I don’t have forever…”. Maybe I need to have a little more patience with Bluehost, but I don’t like it much! Hmmm…With SiteGround, I never face such a delay and the updates are saved almost instantly.

Other than that both servers are reliable and steady.

#4. Security & Updation

Both provide free SSL. For site security, you have to purchase it in Bluehost while SiteGround provides it along with the hosting plan.

Site updation is done automatically with SiteGround which Bluehost did not provide.

#5. User Interface

The cPanel is the User Interface. SiteGround now uses it’s own Site Tools which is custom made. According to SiteGround, cPanel limits their ability to expand and integrate new technology to give you a secure and reliable website.

Moreover, SiteGround has carefully analyzed years of data on which cPanel features most users rely on and incorporated those features into their new panel.

Bluehost also uses cPanel. And as I mentioned, I feel the cPanel is a bit more simple and easily accessible.

USER FRIENDLY

USER FRIENDLY

here are the reasons why i prefer siteGround over Bluehost

  • High uptime record of over 99.99% over the last five years.
  • SiteGround might be pricey as compared to Bluehost, but the service and quality it rendered to the customers are top-notch and very professional.
  • Their quality servers which enable high-speed website traffic are situated in the USA, UK and Singapore enable them to provide high-speed websites for traffic.
  • Daily automated backups of websites with high security.
  • They have an innovative and speedy customer support team.
  • Up to 70% discounted price for the first billing cycle.
However, I must say that it is not cheap at all. The most affordable and best overall hosting with a budget would be Bluehost. I used both SiteGround and Bluehost for my websites.
