Here is my candid review of InterServer Web Hosting. I will not bore you with all the usual details which you would have already found on the InterServer homepage itself.
However, I will only highlight the important factors which are used in choosing the right and suitable web hosting provider so that it will help you in deciding the perfect one for your awesome site!
InterServer Web Hosting Overview
InterServer.net started in 1999 and has been providing web hosting services for the past 21 years. Though it wasn’t as popular as some of the web hosting providers … may be due to less advertising or may be due to their data-centers located in the US only or due to the current Covid-19 situations … whatever it may be … they seem to make their service available to as many as possible and the performance and service it provided cannot be overlooked!
The main features are standard root and SSH access, DDoS protection, and 24/7 server uptime monitoring. However, there’s no RAID 1 storage included without choosing a second disk with your plan, which will cost extra.
The services they provided include:

Pros Of InterServer Web Hosting
1. Cheap And Affordable
Right now InterServer offers a massive 90% discount on web hosting at a mere $1.00 for the first 3 months which is way too cheap and affordable. And the renewal price is locked at $5/month for life. It sure is worth considering.
It also gives you unlimited storage, bandwidth, SSD caching servers, and an integrated Cloudflare CDN. All standard plans also include free SSL encryption and certificates.
The cheapest customizable plan gets you 8GB of RAM and a 3.2 GHz processor with 4 CPU cores for your web server. You can choose between 2TB of HDD or 250GB of SDD storage.
In addition, you will also get 5 dedicated IP addresses but are limited to 10TB of bandwidth, which should be more than enough for average small to medium businesses needs.
2. Good Load Time And Uptime
The load time it provided was at ~520ms on average which wasn’t bad either. On top of that, the uptime was also nearly perfect, with 99.99%, and is reliable too with their automated caching for all websites. That also means the websites rarely experience outrages.
So, considering the low price, the service they rendered wasn’t bad either as compared to many web hosting providers and many of their customers vouched for it too.
3. Easy To Customize
You can easily customize your website with nearly 500 1-click integrations such as WordPress, Joomla, and eCommerce service Magento.
4. Good Customer Support
InterServer offers around-the-clock customer support 24/7 is available for their toll-free numbers but no live chat. However, the company’s agents were professional and well-equipped to answer every queries and issue. If you prefer to find your own answers, you can look through the company’s tutorials or forum.
It is important to note that they only give technical support to system re-installs and hardware issues if you get the plan without a control panel.
Moreover, if your plan is along with a cPanel, their support extends to repairing any service that isn’t functioning as well!
Cons Of Using InterServer Web Hosting
1. Extra Cost For cPanel
Unfortunately, the standard shared ASP.net hosting does not have cPanel but use Plesk. An alternative of cPanel is, Webuzo, a single user control panel, can be added to a Linux VPS hosting at no charge if you don’t want to pay extra for cPanel. A solo cPanel will cost $15/month.
2. Datacenters Located In The US Only
InterServer’s data centers are located only in the US, which must be somehow intimidating to others located outside the US. The data centers are located outside of NYC in nearby Secaucus, NJ, US.
No wonder, InterServer offers one of the cheapest web hostings but you have to pay extra for cPanel for which you will be given full customer support. No other hosting provider offers such an affordable price so far.
As for the uptime and loading, it has an average time which must not be a problem for a small site. If you are on a tight budget, InterServer can be one of the best choices.
If you are looking for one of the most value-for-money hosting providers that you can rely on upon the least technical skill required, then Bluehost might be the best choice.
And here is how you can get Bluehost at a 70% discount for $2.65/month with a free domain of your choice for the first year!
